Police Make Quick Arrest in Burglary
SAVANNAH, GA (November 18, 2009): Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department (SCMPD) made two quick arrests in at least one burglary in Midtown Savannah.
Just after 11:00 a.m. this morning, while on patrol near E 34th St. and Dieter St. a very observant Crime Suppression Unit officer Brandon Dupont observed two black males in the lane, carrying a TV and other electronic equipment, when he attempted to approach them they ran.
The two subjects ran in different directions; however the entire CSU Unit headed By Sgt Cedric Phillips were in the area and quickly coordinated their apprehension tactics. One of the subjects ran through the yard of the house they had just burglarized and then into the window of another home and one suspect was hiding under the house and was discovered by K-9 officer McGruder and her partner Binky.
Christopher TAYLOR and Brandon WRIGHT were taken into custody, and were charged with Burglary and Obstruction by fleeing. Both subjects were out on bond for previous charges; TAYLOR for Burglary and WRIGHT for Theft by Receiving Stolen property
