Update: Pedestrian Fatality Identified
SAVANNAH, GA (November 17, 2009): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) released the identity of the person killed in a traffic accident last night.
Shane Price, 40, of New York died last evening while trying to cross eight lanes of traffic on Abercorn St. without using a crosswalk. Price was attempted to run across all eight lanes of Abercorn St. in one of the areas that is not well lit when he was struck. Price had just moved to the area five weeks ago from the New York area.
Metro traffic officers reminds citizens to: Always use crosswalks, wear light colored or reflective clothing when walking at night, walk dont run when crossing the street, it slows down your reaction time, be aware of traffic and dont assume drivers can see you.
