METRO POLICE ARREST ONE IN ROBBERY
SAVANNAH, GA (January 13, 2010): Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department (SCMPD) makes an arrest in a Robbery that occurred last night.
Just after 11:30 p.m. an employee at Sonic located in the 300 Blk. of Cranebrake Rd. advised that he heard the drive thru window open and shut, he looked over and noticed the cash drawer from the register was gone and a silver car was driving away. He stated he began yelling for police who were across the street on an unrelated incident.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle; it refused but was driving at a slow pace due to mechanical difficulties, and was smoking heavily. Officers continued to follow the vehicle until the suspects finally stopped and fled on foot.
One suspect Kiera MERCHINSON was apprehended, the other 3 suspects described as black males are still at large.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 912-234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) and in the body type “CStop2020” plus the tip. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash award.
